The LGBTQIA+ Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Fuller Hospital is a short-term stabilization program specifically designed to meet the unique behavioral, emotional and mental health needs of the LGBTQIA+ community.
This program provides trauma-informed care, focusing on a wide range of mental health conditions and life transition issues, while creating a safe space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to receive compassionate, non-judgmental treatment in an outpatient setting.
The mission of the program is to provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ community members to share experiences, process emotions, navigate life transitions and learn effective, evidence-based strategies to manage behavioral health symptoms.

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Fuller cottages situated on the hospital campus, yet separate from the main hospital building. Participants engage in four daily groups, each 45 minutes to one hour in duration, within a comfortable and home-like atmosphere.
The typical group size ranges from six to twelve members. Our treatment team strives to tailor the daily group topics to meet the specific and evolving needs of program participants. Moreover, patients will have opportunities for individual meetings with our experienced clinicians and medication provider.
Typically, the PHP program’s duration is two weeks or more, influenced by each person’s clinical presentation and requirements.
We also offer virtual programming via telehealth, for those who qualify, providing confidential, evidence-based programming and resources similar to the in-person PHP.
Our multidisciplinary team features experienced counseling professionals, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and discharge planners. Our PHP clinical team utilizes a trauma-informed and affirming approach to care, addressing the distinct needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our staff are diverse, with people identifying across the gender identity and sexuality landscape. We aim to establish a safe, compassionate, supportive, inclusive and therapeutic environment.
