Adolescent Mental Health: Why Choose the Inspire Program at Fuller Hospital?
Watching your child struggle is hard, but your family doesn’t have to navigate these challenges alone.
The Inspire Program at Fuller Hospital is an adolescent partial hospitalization program (PHP) that provides therapeutic outpatient treatment for kids ages 12 to 17 (and 18-year-olds still in high school). We provide a stable day treatment environment where your child can focus on their mental health. They return home each afternoon.
The Inspire Program is a supportive bridge for adolescents who need more than weekly therapy, but don’t need 24/7 care.
Highlights of our adolescent PHP include:
- Goal setting and problem solving: Your teen is an active participant in their care at Fuller Hospital. They set goals, work through challenges, and learn and share with their peers.
- Structured environment: We provide a full program that keeps teens busy and focused on their growth and healing. Phones and other distractions are put away for the day.
- Staff who care about kids: We specialize in caring for the unique emotional and developmental needs of adolescents. Your child can find a space here where their concerns are heard and respected.
- Family support: We regularly communicate with families and offer in-person family meetings. We also offer a virtual parent support group twice a week so you can learn skills and find out how to best support your child.
- Peer connections: We encourage adolescents to open up and share with their peers in group therapy. Many teens find comfort and growth in learning from and supporting each other.
- Daily schoolwork: Your child gets a tutoring session each day so they can keep up with assignments from their school. Tutors coordinate with schools so kids stay on track while they receive treatment.
- Welcoming atmosphere: Every teen deserves to be seen and respected for who they are. We welcome trans and nonbinary adolescents and young people of all identities and backgrounds.

How We Approach Mental Health Treatment for Teens
Kids have needs, concerns and dreams of their own. Navigating middle school or high school and understanding their place in the world is a big challenge. Plus, they are dealing with family, siblings and even world events.
We support adolescents with a blend of structured group therapy and personalized psychiatric care. Our therapists focus on your child’s strengths and help them build the skills they need to heal and move forward. We keep it fun and engaging, incorporating activities that build confidence and self-esteem, including games, talent shows and more.
For most group therapy sessions, adolescents gather around a large table. We also have an afternoon session in our cozy Zen Den, where they can unwind, reflect and try yoga and mindfulness techniques.
Discharge planning
We do everything we can to set your child up for success when they leave our program. Our services include coordination with your child’s primary care doctor, therapist and school. We also arrange therapy appointments as part of the discharge process.
Additional mental health treatment options for adolescents
Other adolescent treatment options include:
- support: This program helps your family build practical skills so your child can thrive. We offer comprehensive 24/7 support for the whole family.
- Inpatient treatment: Get around-the-clock stabilization and support during a mental health crisis. We use group therapy, medication management and family engagement to support adolescents with mental health or substance use crises.
