Patients are not allowed to have the following items in the hospital:

• Mirrors
• Belts
• Razors
• Shoelaces
• Glass items (picture frames, bottles, etc.)
• Lighters/matches
• Sharp items (knives, scissors, etc.)
• Alcohol/Drugs

Additionally, the following items must be given to the Charge Nurse immediately upon entering the mental health facility:

• Over-the-counter medications
• Prescription medications
• Cigarette packages that may be returned upon discharge
